Walking Tour - Liberdade Neighborhood

Saturday - Time: 3 hours

On the Walking Tour through Liberdade Neighborhood, we will learn a little more about its history, cultural aspects and some urban legends.
The tour also includes cultural visits to a Shao Lin Temple, Churches and the Japanese Immigration Museum, where tourists will have the opportunity to learn more about the process of immigration and culture of these peoples.

TOUR PROGRAMMING:
 

Departure: 10:00am Liberdade Square (Liberdade Subway Station)

History and Formation of Bairro da Liberdade: We start the Tour at Liberdade Square, where we will know the origins of Liberdade Neighborhood and the entire historical process that transformed it into the main neighborhood of oriental culture in the city of São Paulo.

Santa Cruz das Almas dos Enforcados and Capela dos Aflitos: We stopped and visited two important churches in the neighborhood for photos.

Visit to the LOHAN Temple: Located in a 19th century house and listed as a historical heritage of the city, we will learn a little more about the history of Chinese immigration, history of Buddhism and Kung Fu, as well as a visit to the Weapons, Medicine, Calligraphy and Library.

 

Visit to the Japanese Immigration Museum: Bunkyo Museum where there is a varied exhibition on the history of Japanese immigration in Brazil and especially in the city of São Paulo, visit duration: 1 hour.

 

Torii – Prosperity Portal: In this stage of the tour we will visit Largo da Pólvora and Portal do Bairro da Liberdade to learn about the historical aspects of these places. We end the tour in the Oriental Garden where tourists can visit and enjoy the most varied restaurants and typical food stalls of oriental cuisine.
